LaFargeville;
Mr.
Lloyd C. Switzer age 77 of Clayton St. died Saturday at his
residence where he was under the care of his family and the
Hospice of Jefferson County.
There will be no calling hours or funeral. Burial will be in
Grove cemetery in LaFargeville. There will be a celebration of
life on Sunday June 6th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the
LaFargeville American Legion.
Arrangements are with the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton.
Lloyd was born February 26th 1933 in Denmark NY, the
son of Marcus and Bertha Salisbury Switzer. As a child he moved
to Clayton, and attended Clayton Schools. He served in the
United States Army where he was honorably discharged. On
September 24th 1955 he married the former Fern
Stevens in Clayton. He was an operating engineer for Union Local
# 545, retiring in 1995. He worked until becoming ill at the
Town of Orleans Landfill. He was a member of the LaFargeville
American Legion Klock Smith Post 1788. He enjoyed golfing,
spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter and
his El Camino car.
Surviving is his wife Fern, two daughters Jayne and her
companion Brad Jackson of Barnes Corners, Gayla [Donald]
Armstrong of LaFargeville, two sons Jay of Albany, Robert
[Carla] of LaFargeville, three grandchildren, one
great-granddaughter, one brother John [Gertrude] of Dexter, two
sisters Thelma Angel of Depauville, Gwendolyn [John] Gray of
Watertown, nieces and nephews. One son Lloyd Mark, one brother
Gerald, two sisters Marjorie Clark and Delerine Grey predeceased
him.
