Depauville;
Mrs. Betty J. Skinner age 83 of Caroline Street beloved wife of
John died Wednesday at Lewis County Residential Nursing Facility
in Lowville. As per her request there will be no calling hours
or funeral. There will be a private celebration of life at her
home at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are with the
T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton.
Betty was born February 15, 1927 in Carthage the daughter
of Llewellyn and Mildred Malone Collier. She attended area
schools. She married her husband of 63 years John November 8th,
1946 at St. James Catholic Church in Carthage. Being a
housewife, Betty loved her family and her home. She will be
remembered for her love of life. Besides her love for her
grandchildren she enjoyed laughing, shopping and the color red.
Surviving is her husband John, fours sons and their wives, John
and Shirley of AZ, Nicholas and Marion of NH, Gary and Jana of
Ellisburg, Scott and Kelly of Clayton, two daughters and their
husbands Jeanne and Richard Caskinette of Redwood, Nancy and
Patrick O’Connor of Evans Mills, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen
great-grandchildren, one sister Gloria Baxter of Carthage,
nieces and nephews.
