Sigrid E. Ricco

St. Lawrence Corners;

Mrs. Sigrid E. Ricco, age 58 at County Route 4 Clayton died Tuesday, February 2, at her residence. The Funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 am at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton. Calling hours will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday evening at the Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Carthage.

 

Sigrid was born November 10, 1951, in Bad Hersfeld Germany, the daughter of Vincent R. and Erika G. Dunnebier Beebe, coming to the United States at the age of two. She graduated from Geneva NY High School and SUNY Morrisville College. On November 26, 1971, she married Joseph W. Ricco of Carthage, NY at the North Presbyterian Church in Geneva, NY. After Mr. Ricco retired from the military, they relocated from Virginia to Natural Bridge, NY in 1985.  While in Natural Bridge, she owned her own real estate business and raised Alaskan Malamutes.  A few years after Mr. Ricco's passing in 1989 at age 39, Mrs. Ricco moved to St. Lawrence Corners where she became a well-known breeder of Appaloosa horses. She also worked in Clayton in the cafeteria of the Thousand Island High School.

 

She is survived by one son and his wife Joseph and Melissa Ricco of Southwick, Mass., and one daughter and her husband Jaime and William Kirk of Mesa, Arizona, four grandchildren Annabella and Joseph Ricco of Mass, and Ariana and Alexis Kirk of Arizona, her mother Erika Beebe of Geneva, NY and one sister Marina Hansen of Geneva, NY, Nieces and Nephews.
