Wayne H. Dano

The funeral for Mr. Wayne H. Dano age 67 of Rte 12 Clayton will be Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm at the T.R. Jetty Funeral home Inc. in Clayton. A calling hour will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral.

 

Wayne was born February 5th 1943 in Watertown the son of Ellsworth and Thelma Docteur Dano. He graduated from Cape Vincent Central School in 1962. He served in the United States Navy from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1968 during the Vietnam War. He married the former Sandra Weaver June 3rd 1967 at the Cape Vincent United Methodist Church with the Reverend Oliver Barker officiating. After leaving the military he worked at the New York Air Break until 1977 he then worked for Frink’s Snowplow until it’s closing, then he worked at various other jobs in contracting and trucking until he retired from Fort Drum. He was a member of the Machinists Union at Frink America and enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.

 

Surviving besides his wife Sandra is one son Bruce [Tona] of Virginia Beach, one daughter Penny [Robert] Mack of Carthage, three grandchildren, his mother Thelma of Clayton, three brothers James [Adelaide] of Perch River, Billy of Florida, Nelson of Syracuse, three sisters Darlene Barbrow of Theresa, Marla Piper of Jamestown, Sue [Joseph] Shaw of Syracuse nieces and nephews. His father Ellsworth died in 1981.
